PROJECTS

Tazerbo Circular Farms

1,000 Hectares Turning Barren Desert Into One of Libya’s Most Ambitious Agricultural Projects.
Our flagship project spans 1,000 hectares of desert farmland in Tazerbo, owned by Golden Harvest and now being transformed into productive agricultural land through circular center-pivot farms. Across these fields we grow a diverse mix of crops — palm trees, olives, mangoes, and avocados — alongside barley, alfalfa, grains, and wheat. It’s a model of what modern irrigation and careful land management can achieve in Libya’s south: turning arid desert into productive, food-secure farmland.

Progress

A landmark agricultural development rising from the heart of the Libyan desert, Tazerbo transforms 1,000 hectares of arid land into productive, cultivated farmland. Powered by modern irrigation and smart farming techniques, it turns one of the country’s harshest environments into a thriving source of growth.

Jardina Olive Groves

In the Jardina district, we’ve planted 4,000 olive trees, drawing on Libya’s ideal climate for olive cultivation. Building on this success, we recently acquired an additional 250 hectares in Jardina in partnership with the Great Man-Made River, Libya’s largest water and irrigation authority — expanding one of the country’s most promising olive-growing regions.

Jardina Expansion

250 New Hectares with the Great Man-Made River

The Acquisition

Golden Harvest expands with 250 new hectares in Jardina, growing its agricultural footprint in one of Libya’s most promising farming regions.

The Great Man-Made River Partnership

How collaboration with Libya’s largest water and irrigation authority secures reliable water for large-scale cultivation.

Why Jardina

What makes this district one of Libya’s most promising agricultural regions, and why Golden Harvest is investing here.

The Sustainability Vision

How this expansion reinforces Golden Harvest’s long-term commitment to productive, sustainable farming in Libya.

PARTNERSHIP WITH RKD

Golden Harvest is the official Libyan dealer of RKD Irrigation, a leading Spanish manufacturer of center-pivot and linear irrigation systems. Designing, manufacturing, and installing irrigation systems in Valladolid, Spain since 1962, RKD brings over 50 years of experience and stands at the forefront of irrigation technology in Europe — giving Libyan farms access to some of the most advanced and reliable systems in the world.

Through this partnership, Golden Harvest brings RKD’s complete product lineup to Libyan fields: center pivots, multicentre pivots, lateral (linear) pivots, hippodrome pivots, total surface coverage systems, and localised watering solutions, along with specialised options such as Drop Span, Wings, the Extender, hydraulic systems, and Polypipe. Whatever a field’s shape, soil, or terrain, Golden Harvest can match it to the right RKD system.

Built with a pyramidal galvanized-steel structure bolted to a reinforced-concrete platform for remarkable sturdiness and stability, the center pivot is the strongest, most reliable machine for irrigating large circular fields — ideal for Libya’s wide, open farmland.
One machine, several fields. Self-transferring without a tractor or extra machinery, it can be moved to irrigate two, three, or more areas, dramatically increasing the ground covered by a single unit — maximum reach for minimum equipment.
Designed for straight-line fields. RKD Lateral systems are especially suited to rectangular plots, guided by a precise furrow- or cable-alignment system, and fed either by hydrant hoses or an onboard motor-pump drawing straight from a ditch — full coverage, corner to corner.
Hippodrome systems have been designed to irrigate square, rectangular or unusually shaped plots, allowing lateral irrigation and making the turn possible by pivoting at one or more points, internal or externally. They are able to irrigate when necessary, without requiring the anchoring of the central cart.

Components Everything you need for your irrigation systems

Through its partnership with RKD Irrigation, Golden Harvest provides the complete range of RKD components — everything needed to build, run, and maintain a high-performance irrigation system, engineered with high-quality steel for maximum durability and resistance to corrosion. The full lineup includes:
Frameworks built from high-quality certified steel, with thicker pipe walls (3mm standard) that make them among the sturdiest on the market, computer-designed for a regular curvature that resists weight, water, and wind loads.
The entire framework is hot-dip galvanized to UNE-EN ISO 1461:1999 standards, giving strong, long-lasting resistance to rust and corrosion.
The core of circular pivots, built with a large-thickness elbow and extension pipe and a hermetically sealed connection for the electrical collector rings.
A cardan-type coupling with a vulcanized natural-rubber sleeve that resists wear and adapts to highly uneven ground, radially and tangentially.
A heavy-duty structure of four braced angular profiles designed to carry the span weight and hold the gearboxes, transmission shafts, motor-drives, and wheels.
A compact, fully watertight tropicalized motor in an extruded-aluminium frame with cooling panels, 95% performance, low amperage, and IP-55 protection, available in 0.75, 1.0, and 1.5 HP.
Standard 14.9/13×24 high-flotation tyres with inner tube, galvanized rim, and valve protection, with a tread designed specifically for irrigation.
A transmission group of steel augers and a highly resistant cast-iron GS crown, with a reversible double exit for easy spare-part changes and an internal oil expansion chamber to prevent leaks.
Top-quality electrical elements housed in a fibreglass-reinforced polyester box (IP-55), completely watertight and immune to rust and weather.
Extends reach by 10 to 30 metres depending on the model, capacity, and pressure, increasing the area each system can irrigate.
A shaft of telescopic bars with cardan links at both ends, fully covered to protect the crops, aligned for straight running and long durability, with an option for aluminium cardan and urethane inserts.
